Material Findings Related to the Destruction

Numerous findings of the victims and perpetrators have been recovered by the Academy of Sciences in Minsk. Some of these finds were handed over to the House of Austrian History (HdGÖ) during a state visit to Vienna. The donated objects, all of which have an Austrian connection, can be interpreted as the last items the deportees were carrying when they were murdered.

It turned out that they were predominantly objects for daily hygiene and daily needs. On the one hand, these objects show what was useful for everyday life, and on the other hand, they show what was important for the people to take with them on the uncertain journey to Minsk.
